After being diagnosed with terminal cancer, John Riley attempts to become immortal by killing a person a day throughout Lent, culminating with a sensational assassination of a US Senator. Even though the memory of his first murder haunts him, he continues along his treacherous voyage until a ghost from his past catches up to him.
