Tokyo Jazz

This novel tells the story of a group of foreign artists fighting for survival in the underground nightlife of Tokyo. Faced with police persecution and the imminence of deportation, they find themselves thorn between the desire to stay and the pressure to leave. The beauty and mystery of the city they love but can't fully comprehend shroud the lives of these dangling men who search for a home that is never reached. When one of them disappears, they find themselves at a point of no return where the decision to leave or to stay can no longer be postponed.
