Crash Course on Drawing the Basics FAST! Drawing for Beginners
What this book can do: Show you the right tools for drawing. Teach you the right steps to take in order to learn to harness your natural drawing talent and draw accurate faces, figures, and landscapes.
What this book cannot do: Turn you into Picasso. Give you talent.
Most people have some small modicum of innate drawing ability. Not all people, but most people. For some people, drawing is only ten percent work and the rest is pure raw talent. Everyone is different, however, and other artists are completely the opposite. Their drawing is ninety percent hard work with only a fraction of their skill coming from their talent.
Whether you have a small amount of drawing talent or a fair amount of it, the number one way to get better at drawing is to draw. You have no doubt heard the phrase “Practice, practice, practice!” and it definitely holds true for drawing. The more you draw, the better you will become at drawing and the easier it will be for you to draw. If you do not get better after a few weeks of daily drawing, then chances are that you are one of the unlucky few who does not have any natural talent for drawing.
The best thing to do when you begin using this book to practice your drawing skills is to date and then keep every drawing that you do. Draw daily using the exercises contained here and after two weeks, compare your latest drawing to your very first one. Is your latest drawing better than your first one, by even a little bit? If it is, keep going, keep practicing, and keep drawing. If it is not, it is probably time to find a new hobby.
