A Practice of Tantra: Mark Levy P.hD. (English Edition)

Although I am a professional scholar, this is not a scholarly study of Tantra. It is an attempt to show how an idiosyncratic version of Tantra that was first transplanted to America by my guru Rudi (Swami Rudrananda 1928- 1973), has lead to an ongoing process of liberation for both my students and me. In this first section, I will tell the story of how I got into Tantra, and how it works and does not work. I will also discuss what parts of Hindu and Buddhist practices and theories are useful and not extraneous to the practice I follow and share with my students. In Part 1, I will talk about my odyssey in Tantra from student to teacher with a few rants and digressions, and give you some idea about how Tantra functions. In Part 2, I hope to amplify the historical and philosophical context of Tantra, and discuss what can be transplanted to a Western context.
