Memory: A Contribution to Experimental Psychology (1913) (Linked Table of Contents) (English Edition)

Hermann Ebbinghaus (1850 – 1909) was a German psychologist who pioneered the experimental study of memory, and is known for his discovery of the forgetting curve and the spacing effect. He was also the first person to describe the learning curve. He was the father of the eminent neo-Kantian philosopher Julius Ebbinghaus.

Ebbinghaus in 1885 published his groundbreaking Über das Gedächtnis , "On Memory", later in 1913 translated by Henry A. Ruger (1872–1947) to English as "Memory. A Contribution to Experimental Psychology".

In this book he described experiments he conducted on himself to describe the processes of learning and forgetting.
