Lady Evelyn Hammond refuses to get married, so is horrified when her father announces she will undergo a purity examination by Dr. Barber before her engagement is announced.
Determined not to fall in with her father’s wishes, she flees the house only to cross paths with the doctor, who returns her home against her will.
When her father insists the examination must go ahead Evelyn is determined to defy them both, but quickly learns that Dr. Barber has some effective methods to overcome her objections. Confused by sensations of pain and pleasure she finds herself begging to dispense with her innocence, leaving her entire future in jeopardy.
