Regency Romance: the Italian Countess: Captive of the Rakehell Earl (Wedding the Heiress Book 4) (English Edition)

    Por Fiona Millsan

    Sobre

Flavia knew what Robert Langford wanted from her. It was there in his eyes. Even if she couldn’t understand how she’d come into his power Flavia knew what this man intended. There was no possibility of error either, her humiliation at the Imperial palace had left Flavia too aware of how powerful men enjoyed degrading women. This time though she wouldn’t give in.

As his captive, in thrall to him for every facet of her life, she should have been terrified of this confident, dominant young man. Particularly when she had not the slightest idea why he’d abducted her from her home on the shores of the Mediterranean. Unless Robert Langford sought to use Flavia to get his hands on her family lands, or her kidnap was part of a plot by her brother’s political enemies. The point was she didn’t know and given Robert’s lamentable addiction to secrecy she was unlikely to find out.

And it was exasperating to be treated as an ornament by a man whose life appeared to be governed by an absurd code of honour of what was and what wasn’t permissible for a Regency gentleman of the ton. Though that was as nothing compared to watching the procession of trollops who trailed after Robert Langford, Earl of Melfield just because he was rich and handsome and no better behaved than he ought to be.

That was none of her business of course except that Robert makes it hard to keep your distance. His courtesy and kindness and courage are designed to soften and steal any woman’s heart. Even if he is incapable of revealing any hint of his feelings. Apart of course from his inclination to lust after her. Flavia realises that she has an uphill task if she wishes to tame her Rakehell Earl.
