Gunshots permeate the air constantly. The deafening sounds of planes are like a death knell. The grim reaper’s dark scythe is hidden around every corner.
This is the life that Nadezda Ledovsky lives.
It wasn’t always like this. Her life used to be normal. Stalingrad used to be grand. When the Germans came, everything changed. Permanently.
Sixteen year old Nadezda Ledovsky, a civilian soldier, must fight her way through the beleaguered city of Stalingrad in order to survive and regain her home from the encroaching Axis Powers. After her regiment is wiped out and she’s left alone, she’s not quite sure what she wants anymore. As she meets up with soldiers, medics, a few Germans, and her old friend Victor Romanov along the way, Nadezda’s biggest challenge perhaps is deciding if there’s really anything still worth living for in a world where death is her only reality.
