After his testimony at the Congressional Pearl Harbor Hearings, James Otto Richardson, once the United States Fleet commander in chief, stayed around to listen. With this and his long career in the Navy, he knew as much about why Pearl Harbor had been attacked as any. Thus, he was asked to give the Navy's testimony at the International Military Tribunal for the Far East. This was more commonly known as the Tokyo Crimes Trial, which took place from the late spring of 1946 to early 1948, far longer than the Nuremberg trials in Germany. The presentation Richardson gave has rarely been used in Pearl Harbor attack books or movies, so some is fairly new to readers. The trial is summarized in this presentation, also.
