2: Mathematics and Astronomy in Bible Word Values. Pre-history re-written? (Mathematical relationships among Bible word values) (English Edition)

    Por Cyril Shelbourne (deceased)

    Sobre

This article presents a full report of research by the late Cyril Shelbourne on mathematical relationships among word values in the Bible. This shows that there are mathematical functions linking word values in the biblical Hebrew of Genesis in the Old Testament and words in the ancient Greek of the New Testament, as well as between word values in the two Testaments. Similar functional relationships were also found between Bible word values and the dimensions of the earth and its orbit in day-space units and in statute miles. These mathematical relationships are presented in several tables. Words (in the rows) are shown paired, with one designated as the 'target' and the other as the 'predictor', and their respective word values and the mathematical function used to predict the value of the target word are also given.

The predicted value of target words was always precise, with errors averaging 0.05 of one percent of the target word's value. Similarly the prediction of the earth's equatorial radius and the diameter and circumference of its orbit around the sun in miles was equally precise. Over 100 functional relationships are demonstrated. Surprisingly, these utilised logarithms to base 10, exponents and Pi to several places of decimals.

The mathematical, scientific and astronomical knowledge that is demonstrated are far more advanced than would be expected from eras 1,900 to 2,600 years ago. These results imply that the Israelite author(s) of Genesis must have been familiar with mathematical concepts like logarithms and Pi, and had precise knowledge of dimensions of the earth and its orbit around the sun. They must also have passed this knowledge to the writers of the New Testament Gospels about 700 years later. In consequence, our present time-scale of the development of scientific, mathematical and astronomical knowledge appears to need major revision.
