IS and Ireland (English Edition)

In 1968-9 Northern Ireland exploded, in the biggest crisis that the British state has faced within its own domains for centuries. The left was relatively well-placed to intervene: how did it manage, and what can we learn? This pamphlet, written in 1969, critically analyses the decision by IS (forerunner of the SWP) to drop opposition to the British military presence in Ireland at the point when the troops went onto the streets, and outlines an alternative perspective.
