The models are entirely too sexy and in unbelievable situations. Sometimes the models are not even photographed with the product. Have you ever seen a watch advertisement where the model is scantly clad and holding the watch? They are not even wearing the watch! Why is their body so sweaty, oily, and perfect? What does this have to do with telling the time? The extremes that fashion brands go to make their product look cool is what inspired Beyond Bread. It is a parody of every product catalog in the market today. It takes inspiration from catalogs of all disciplines; watches, handbags, chocolates, appliances, and even Japanese Christmas cakes (No, I'm not being sarcastic!).

Why is this book called Beyond Bread? Because it goes one step too far. Maybe even a few hundred steps too far. Beyond Bread is chock-full of data about bread that is completely unnecessary. Of course, the weight of every bread specimen was measured. But weight was also measured after submission to a 20 minute water bath in order to calculate water absorption of various bread varieties.
Why?
For no apparent reason at all.
On top of that, the temperature of all bread was measured after being exposed to 900 watts of electro-magnetic radiation. What a complete waste of time! However, we think you will be surprised by the results.
The author of this book went without a girlfriend for over a year so he could take photos of bread!
Now that is a sacrifice. You owe him some gratitude for his professional focus on the important things in life, taking photos of bread. A loving relationship comes second to creating useless photo books. The author insists that his professionalism is the reason he had no girlfriend and not the fact that he incessantly talks about his GREATNESS at every first date.

Andrew Gram was born in America but has spent most of his adult life in Japan. During a turbulent time in his life he was briefly addicted to purchasing camera gear. He used all that unnecessary gear to take bad photos. After realizing his weakness, he decided to reset his priorities and spend his time learning his craft.
