New York Song: A Seedling in the The Big Apple (English Edition)

    Por Roger Gemelle

    Sobre

New York Song: A Seedling in The Big Apple, is the story of a young man discovering the wonders of music in New York City in 1964.
From Pete Seeger's Hootenanny On The Hudsen, to the Brooklyn Fox Theatre and Murray The K's Swinging Soiree, and through the streets of Manhatten chasing a recording contract, the beat of New York is everywhere.

The struggle to understand the craft and the writing of originals with a band of neophytes, while chasing girls, learning to dance less awkwardly and performing equally poorly in school, leads to a record contract with The Tokens label Bright Tunes Productions and the release and radio play of First Spring Rain over the New York air waves.

From the British Invasion and the Borsht-Belt of the Catskill mountain resorts, to the stages of the 1964/65 World's Fair and the Steven Scott Orchestra, to recording sessions in The Ed Sullivan Theater building to trips on LSD, and trips to Daytona on spring break, as the Sixties run out and the Seventies approach.

A journey into writing, performance and a life-long passion for music.
At times humorous, and at times irreverent, it is a business which, as Kurt Vonnegut so aptly said: "Is no way to make a living!"
