The American Heritage Essential Dictionary is based on the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, fifth edition, and has been adapted and simplified for ease of use with the Kindle line of e-readers. The American Heritage Essential Dictionary provides customers with the definitions they need at the touch of a key.
Note: This product functions optimally on all Kindles except the Kindle Fire. On all other Kindle devices, this dictionary functions as your new Kindle dictionary (with full search capability, the American Heritage Fifth Edition can be set as the default dictionary on your Kindle device). On the Fire, however, this product will appear as an ebook, which can be read and browsed, but this can not be set as your Fire’s default dictionary and its search features will not be enabled.
