Chain of Ghosts: Resonance in Language, Story, and the Brain (English Edition)

Chain of Ghosts is a look at why stories work. The book looks at techniques from modern writing disciplines and maps those against Aristotle's Poetics and the Epic of Gilgamesh and modern Neuroscience. The thesis is that storytelling techniques transcend language and culture because of underlying aspects of how the brain processes and associates.

Loren W. Cooper has an MFA from the Northwest Institute of Literary Arts and is the author of numerous short stories (including the 2001 awards winning Lives of Ghosts) and 3 published novels.
