Reduce time for stock update failures is the six sigma project. During accounting operations of a medium-sized pharma distributor company, inventory of products in stock that has moved are updated by end of day. In inventory operations, Stock receipts and movements across different locations for the day are updated by a batch program. Those transaction updates causing negative stock balances are rejected and corrections in inventory stock master file are initiated. These erroneous & rejected stock transactions constitute stock update failures. The erroneous stock transactions are investigated, corrected & resolved.
