My Travel (English Edition)

This book presents fifty years of world-wide travel by a now retired European diplomat. It is organized chronologically by country, and covers 73 of the present countries in the world. Virtually all countries in Europe are included, mostly in great detail, but also the Middle East and Northern Africa, Turkey, Iran, some Sub-Sahara African countries, the Indian Sub-Continent, South-East and East Asia, Oceania, and Northern and Southern America were visited, mostly before mass-tourism and conflict affected these countries. Ulster, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, Georgia, Turkey, Lebanon, Syria, Pakistan´s Swat Valley, Kashmir, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Tunisia and Egypt were all visited before terrorism and warfare hit them. The book contains many travel articles, but also locations from the author´s novels and sections from his travel journals. There is a strong emphasis on UNESCO Cultural Heritage sites, of which the author visited 382, both in Europe and world-wide. The authors ends with a Top Ten of his favorite travel experiences, as well as a runners-up list.
