When our writer retired from a career in the corporate world to the Island of Bali with her family, they embarked on what they coined their great adventure. However, two issues played on her mind as they excitedly planned their future. How would she make the move from killer heels to flip flop’s and what was she going to do with all this time that she would now have on her hands?
To capture this momentous chapter in their lives she religiously wrote a monthly email home to family and friends, vowing to keep it to just the first 12 months; documenting their transition and the events as they unfolded in their new life.
The book opens with them leaving Singapore for England to announce their decision to leave home, and then it shifts onto their island life with all its ups, its downs and at times dam right ridiculous scenarios; all of which she meticulously documents. The names have been changed to protect the identity of the innocent.
Our writer has since worked her email/ blog into a book, prefacing the chapters with what she wished she had thought to ask before burning her bridges…. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
