    Alzheimer’s Disease: A Caregiver’s Perspective (English Edition)

    Por John B Scotton

    Sobre

If you are looking for a medical text book with all the technical information available about Alzheimer's Disease (AD), this may not be the book for you. If you want to learn the important facts about AD, along with real life anecdotes of how AD symptoms actually present, and insights from a caregiver who witnessed the progression of this disease first hand, then maybe this book would be a good choice. The author began this journey as a complete novice. He did not know anything about Alzheimer's Disease or caregiving, and had no intention of becoming a caregiver to his mother. This book is evidence that this author learned to be a decent caregiver, and if he can do it, then so can everyone else.

While this book includes clinical (cold) definitions of AD symptoms, it also includes a short description of what each symptom actually looks like in real life from a caregiver's perspective. This book attempts to present a clear and relatable explanation of AD and what it actually does to real people. Hopefully, this caregiver's perspective will help people understand Alzheimer's Disease a little bit better, and what caregiving actually entails.

If you are just beginning a similar journey into the world of caregiving, I hope this book will shed some light on the process, as well as offer some tips for dealing with a few issues that are certain to arise, and offer some support and understanding that while this caregiving stuff is hard, it is important, meaningful, and ultimately fulfilling.
