Astral tides: rimward – episode one

Captain Daltir Stone is up to his eyeballs in problems. If it isn?t his ship breaking down, it?s his empty pockets, the Council?s security forces, or other brigands in the wide open space that are getting him down. His quartermaster, Merrill Rynn, and his loyal friend and crew member, Thad Vanorin, try to keep the balance between Captain Stone?s blunders and his money-hungry crew. The amphibious alien Firiz Lehnk keeps the ship in the air and the engines humming, despite the efforts of half-breed Elanas Connor, a roguish engineer who throws caution, and etiquette, to the wind. Amidst all of this, the crew?s newest member, the seemingly selfish Sebastian Crell, tries to win the affection, or at least the attention, of the glamorous Allesi Jameur, a beautiful and manipulative former noble. Together, this motley crew makes their way across the stars, following their captain?s orders as he plots their course of action and rolls the dice, taking the long shots and the dangerous gambles in an effort to keep credits in their wallets and fuel in their ship.After a job goes south, Captain Daltir Stone and his crew must band together and execute an elaborate ruse to break their mate, Sebastian Crell, out of the prison ship Vorix-Mar, as well as secure another job to help fix the ship and feed the crew. However, these simple tasks prove more difficult -- and conspicuous -- than Stone originally expected. Yet desperate times call for desperate measures, even if it means fleeing from the Council -- the galactic government of allied planets -- and heading all the way out to the Outer Rims.
