He closed his eyes and remembered a song that had once defined him. Thin fingers remembered chords and tentatively, tickled strings into laughing in sour sounds that he ignored. His eardrums could only hear how the song was once played. The depth of his voice dragged down to its deepest pitch brought forth a hum so low and somber it sounded like metal groaning into a horn. Half-said words worshipped in the space of his mind and dying in the cabin of his car.
