Mickie, Bill and Rich were not the kind of kids to get into trouble; at least, not by their own planning. Almost everyday, during the summer months – one, the other or all of them would head out from their home in Sheboygan riding their bicycles. On a particularly, pleasant day in June, Rich came upon a small, triangularly shaped stone. This marked the beginning of “Bicycle Tales”.
Bicycle Tales is a sci/fi fantasy novel set in real places. Bicycle Tales is made up of three parts: “Pine Woods”, “The Big One” and “Snow Fort”. In each of these parts our three main characters must save the planet from certain disaster. This, ultimately, is done with the assistance of an 8,000-year-old brother and sister, Aralic and Benowin. These siblings live in Urgin, a continent that sank over 10,000 years ago. The only time the people of Urgin interact with the surface world is when there is a threat to the existence of the planet.
Mickie, Bill and Rich become reluctant heroes of these time-travel adventures.
Bicycle Tales is a combination of science/fiction fantasy along with some historical events to make learning about different “times” a bit of fun. This book is recommended for readers age 11 and up.
