Bess and her brother Jim are headed for a cattle ranch owned by Henry, an old friend of Jim?s from their days at Harvard University. Jim plans to start works as Henry?s foreman. Meanwhile, 20-years-old Bess is looking forward to her first taste of freedom after being schooled at a convent. Luckily, Henry West is as handsome as he is rich and he falls for Bess. Unfortunately, Henry is half white and half Indian. For Bess, that is a problem.
