Simply put, this is one the most beautiful book about one of the most magic locations in Canada and on earth to visit. Canada's unique bear "Galapagos" is the place where you can watch Spirit (or Ghost) Bear. These bears are only found in the Great Bear Rainforest in British Columbia’s north and central coast. It is the world’s largest intact temperate rainforest. No one agrees on the exact number, but the best estimate is there are no more than 400 Spirit Bears, most of them living on Gribbell Island and on Princess Royal Island in British Columbia.
This book describes in details, how to get there and what to expect to see there, so that you can enjoy having the most memorable and truly magic experience of seeing these unique animal. Created by an experienced photographer, web site designer, nature lover and hiker, this book is his third book along with Canadian Rockies and Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary book.
During our stay on this island, we have met Marven Robinson and together with Lee (our professional bear guide) we have been fortunate to see two Spirit Bears, one black female bear with its cub and couple of other black bears catching salmons late in September. To get to see and photograph Spirit Bear was truly magic experience and will stay with us for the rest of our lives.
Marven Robinson is known as “Mr. Spirit Bear”. He is from the Gitga’at First Nation based in Hartley Bay at the heart of the remote wild coast of British Columbia known as the Great Bear Rainforest. Marven knows almost all of the bears there individually, and his dedication and determination has effectively facilitated the potential for Spirit Bear watching. He built the viewing platforms on which we were standing overlooking a small stream on this unique island, a prime hot spot for Spirit Bear watching.
This is an amazing location and you will enjoy reading this book with incredible photographs and www video link to follow.
National Geographic Magazine has featured this location many times and many of the videos been broadcasted on BBC, and on other popular wildlife TV channels. This is one unique magic location to visit and to add on your bucket list.
Feel free to check out my other two books, from another incredible locations in Canada, called: Canada Travel Adventure, Part 1 (Grizzlies of Khutzeymateen) and Canadian Rockies in Alberta, Canada.
