Regardless of the outward motivation for murder, false charges, and denied justice, the underlying motivation is power and control over another. The ultimate control and power or power play is the denial of life. The other is the denial of freedom. After this comes rape. Although race is an issue in the specific case in the book, the greater issue is the misuse of power and control regardless of race. It is about power and one way it is misused that have the greatest negative impact on the lives of others. This book addresses just one of millions of tragic incidents that occur all over the globe involving the unlawful denial of life of people from all races and geographic locations and how these incidents are covered up to maintain power, control, and avoid admitting wrongdoing which threatens that power and control. More specifically, it addresses the life of a young boy, Trayvon Benjamin Martin, which was taken from him and how this was mishandled in the criminal justice system in order to retain misused power and control. It is hoped that all will see the forest even though the focus in this book is on one tree. The forest is power and control regardless of one's race.
