Cold days and warm nights

The two women could barely hear what was being said a short way away but they were sure that something had changed from the last time they had been conscious and faced the unpleasant reality.They cried with all the strength they could muster, not aware that to those who were listening, these cries came off as little more than moans. A few seconds later, they had lost consciousness again.
