This is a collection of letters written over a 20 year period from a stand up comedian on the road circuit performing and teaching comedy in all of the US, Canada, the islands, above the arctic Circle, London every other summer, Carnival Cruise lines and two seasons of my television show, "Hoop it up". Because a comedian spends 2 hours on stage and 22 hours alone, driving, writing, sleeping, laundry etc... every time something very strange or edifying happened on the road I would sit down and write a letter explaining the experience just to get the episode out of my head, as there is no one else to tell it to. In the 20 years I have been in stand up comedy i have written over 80 letters. As fate would have it a few months ago while upgrading my computer to windows 10 my hard drive crashed and I lost everything. 23 Hours later we recovered the following letters, so I thought I would publish them for safe keeping. Here is the collection of the ones I have so far. These letters are written to give the new or seasoned comic insight into the backstage workings of the comedy industry and should lay out many of the pitfalls, cheap tricks and mistakes that will cost you a lot of time and money. If nothing else I found these to be a damn good read. I cencerly hope these will do someone some good. Understand the world of entertainment is a very cruel mistress and if you chose to persue her do it right. Best of luck to you sincerly, more than just a pretty face Hoop!
