Barry Eric Odell Pain (Sep 28, 1864 - May 5, 1928) was an English journalist, poet and writer. Born in Cambridge, and educated at the university, he became a prominent contributor to "The Granta". He was known as a writer of parody and lightly humorous stories. The Day Off is a short story by Barry Pain, included in ?Eliza?. There is nothing like a long day in the country, and such opportunity was provided to Eliza and her husband by the marriage of their friend. But our couple of Londoners is known to have a very different view of things. There is little chance, that both of them will enjoy such a day off.
