Death Visits the Summer-House (Black Heath Classic Crime) (English Edition)

    Por Gret Lane

    Sobre

It’s been nearly five years since Kate Marsh and John Barrin were drawn into a criminal investigation. Now, together with Kate’s husband Tony and Barrin’s wife Jennie, the erstwhile partners in crime have settled down to a peaceful retirement in the secluded Devonshire village of White Owl Cove. That is until the two couples leave for a fishing holiday in the picturesque Dartmoor hamlet of Izzard’s Bosom. Staying at the lodge of Coombe House, Kate becomes interested in the strange situation of the house’s inhabitants, who are condemned under the terms of their dead father’s will to remain living at the house until the death of his widow, Mrs. Ladd. She, meanwhile, rules cruelly over the young people with an iron rod.

When Mrs. Ladd’s sister begs Kate and Mr. Barrin to investigate a threat to Mrs. Ladd’s life, the pair can hardly resist. Indeed, the miscreant is soon unmasked and the case apparently closed – that is until a suspicious death takes place in the summer-house…

Originally published in 1939, this is a classic British murder mystery from the golden age of crime fiction.
