Volume 1 starts at the very beginning explaining the various materials available to the aspiring artist and reviews some pros and cons of each. As a bonus, a short history lesson is also included outlining the development of the pencil (which won’t help you draw better but you may find it interesting).
For those just learning to draw, we recommend starting at the beginning of the series, if you’ve already developed fundamental drawing skills the later lessons with their more advanced step by step projects may be more appropriate.
