While the politicians look for votes, the population seeks solutions.
Throughout my life, I have participated in many initiatives, movements, programs and political parties; however they have always been a point of deception. To analyze the panorama and uncover adversities to lead positive projects for my community and country – I have concluded that the political system have structural deficiencies and trends need to be improved for the well-being of a democratic country’s citizens.
Positioned ideologies in governments and competition, and their effects on candidates during elections, as well as the practice of discrediting the governing politicians by social leaders, are the causes of expanding polarization between parties, sectors and the general population.
But now advances in technology and communications provide us tools with great power for integrating national efforts, especially for the forgotten middle class. The power of statistical charts integrated during the political decision process will not suffer from the election or the will of a few. It appears a new dynamic of democratic powers not only amplifies the field of common areas of debate, but improves the mediation between parties that have been absorbed by ideologies.
The integration of technology in the political system – which can bring advantages to countries that implement it – will depend on its conditions and the will of politics.
This book provides the principle and application of electronic democracy – or e-democracy – to countries that have established democracy and seek to strengthen it. I reflect that, currently and in the future, communications technology is and will be the social conscience.
