“Iceland has the characteristics of a fairy tale … it is the land of
fire and ice described to me as a tiny girl by my sailor father,
storyteller of voyages to the far corners of the earth.”
Judith Gordon’s love of travel and adventure, instilled in her by her English
father, has seen her journey to more than 30 countries across the world. Her
latest adventure to Iceland was the realisation of a 40-year-old dream.
Judith was born in Cape Town to a family of journalists and teachers. She has
had a long and successful career in education, as a teacher, a high school head
and a writer. Her previous book, St George’s Cathedral: Heritage and Witness,
was written in collaboration with Dr Mary Bock, and tells the history and
stories of Cape Town’s cathedral. She lives in Cape Town with her husband.
