Whether your horse live at home with you or keep on a farm or in a suburban or city, your horse need a stable to live in and a large, clean stall with comfortable straw bedding. The stall must be cleaned or mucked out every single day.

Similar to human beings, a horse needs plenty of food and water. A horse should be fed hay and grain twice a day in the winter months, but it can graze on grass in the warmer months. It needs to drink eight to twelve gallons (30 to 46 liters) of water every day, which is about 16 to 24 times as much water as humans need.

A horse is required to be let out into a field at least once a day. Again, you have to be careful with your horse because it can be hurt or injured easily through accidents or sickness. A horse loves to be free and live in the wilderness, so it can escape. Sturdy fencing made of thick hedges or posts and rails are best for keeping your horse inside and out of trouble.

A horse needs to be groomed and some of them fall asleep during the process. Other horses need to be tied with a quick-release knot or halter to keep them still. Most stables will have a grooming kit available that you can use it to keep your horses clean from head to hoof.

The horse health care will be achieved by regular visits from a veterinarian and a farrier will help them stay in the top shape. A vet provides preventive treatments for common horse ailments such as tetanus, equine flu, and worms. He gives medicine for illness like colic and injuries like lameness. A farrier should visit every hour to six weeks to trim the horses’ hooves, and/or replace any worn shoes with new ones.
