Esther, Queen of Persia is an historical fiction based on the very real lives of Esther and King Xerxes (Persia, 5th century BC). Most of the known world of the time was in King Xerxes' extremely wealthy hands. Esther was a secret Jewish orphan, one of many beautiful virgins being prepared within the King's harem for the possibility of becoming Queen.
