Jack pulled me onto his lap in the rocking chair and kissed my hair. As the sun came up a teal sea foam sky broke through the clouds and a dusty orange shone over the water.
“I’m glad you stayed.” I whispered as he wrapped me in the comforter. He looked at the side of my face as I continued to stare at the sun.
“I’m glad you let me.”
Now I looked at him, unable to stop a small smile playing at my lips. I could love this man, I thought.
“From now on, always.”
