    Ernest Miller Hemingway (July 21, 1899 – July 2, 1961) was an American author and journalist. His highly stylized writing form had a strong influence on 20th-century fiction. Hemingway won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1954. He published numerous newspaper articles, plus several novels, short story collections, and non-fiction works. Known for his bigger-than-life, adventurous lifestyle, his influence on both literature and the popular image of “manliness” remains until this day, although controversial in some circles.
