Holiness: Its Nature, Hindrances, Difficulties and Roots (English Edition)

    Por John Charles Ryle

    Sobre

Few books on the subject of Holiness have had the influence of this work by J. C. Ryle. It has proved life-changing for many who have read it and is rightly recommended reading for all Christians. Written in Ryle’s characteristic style, each chapter focuses on a key theme related to a believer’s sanctification, and the reader is not permitted to avoid the vital necessity of a real relationship with God as opposed to the cold formality of so many. Later chapters illustrate principles by means of biblical examples including those that function as solemn warnings to us. The lightweight nature of so much that is written today on this theme is exposed by such writing as this.

    J. C. Ryle (1816-1900) served as a minister in Anglican churches in East Anglia for almost 40 years before becoming the first Bishop of Liverpool and was a staunch evangelical. His writings continue to be appreciated and remain in print.

First published in 1879, this edition has been completely re-typeset for issue as an eBook.
