Navy Lieutenant Casey Coughlin, fresh off sea duty, gets orders to an elite working group assigned to look for a mole who is leaking information about the Navy. Casey is approached by Andre, a member of a clandestine organization based in Paris. Led by the mysterious Andre, the Paris group collects vital information, which they sell to the highest bidder. Andre offers to work with Casey to exchange information, assuring him that his group are friends of the United States. Is the suspected mole selling information to him?
Authorized by the Director of Naval Intelligence, Casey’s team of math whizzes and cyber specialists is stashed in secret location at the Army base at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Casey’s experienced Navy and civilian technicians create a website to attract intruders who might lead them to the leak, which soon begins to draw traffic. Searching in the murky world of cyberspace, Casey’s team uncovers more evidence of shady doings somewhere within the Navy itself. The Director of Naval Intelligence directs Casey to leave no stone unturned in his search for the breach in the Navy’s security. Who is the mole? Is he or she connected to the Paris group? Casey sends two of his team members to off post locations to snoop for what they can find. They break into a chat group that may lead them to the mole and discover a source in Eastern Europe. Casey’s wife, who works on the congressional intelligence committee, discovers additional information. More questions soon arise. Is the mole a high-ranking naval officer? A Russian agent? Why are the FBI and NCIS involved? Where will the trail lead? Will he find his target? How will it end?
