In the USA there has been a concentrated effort to increase gun control laws, and try and redefine the Second Amendment. In the United States the right to keep and bear arms is enshrined in the American constitution. It had to be so. The 13 Colonies all refused to ratify the Constitution until it was included.

Today we could be forgiven for thinking that guns are the cause of all our crime.At least in the view of the gun control lobby. This would be a false and dangerous path to follow. WE in the USA have a multitude of gun laws designed to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous criminals. One flaw in that idea is that criminals are law breakers.Therefore they see no incentive to obey any law that will disarm them. Figures from the FBI show that in the US criminals are shot and killed 4 times as often by legally armed citizens than by police officers. A nation where only the Police and Criminals had guns would be a very dangerous place indeed. By way of illustration The city of Chicago has the highest gun murder rate in the nation, and the toughest gun laws. It also has the lowest detection rate in the Nation, mainly due to the liberal, politically correct policies of the city's administration. Chicago is a clear example of what the rest of the country will become if we allow these dangerous progressive ideas to take root.
