Kendra has been temping for too long. The bills have been piling up and the creditors have been calling. Three years ago, when she was the supervisor of advertising layout at the Tribune, she wouldnt have dreamed shed been here tonight, wolfing down a bad microwaved meal at this tacky temp agency banquet. But jobs in advertising were hard to get, especially now, in the grip of the recession. She was especially grateful for the chocolate cheesecake. And the tall guy in the too-big corduroy sports jacket across the table was starting to look very interesting.
