Andrew Lang (1844 ? 1912) was a Scots poet, novelist, literary critic, and contributor to the field of anthropology. He is best known as a collector of folk and fairy tales. The Andrew Lang lectures at the University of St Andrews are named after him. Lang was also a prolific author of works both fiction and non. The Jogi's Punishment is an Indian fairy tale included it in The Lilac Fairy Book. The plot follows a young princess, the rajah?s only child. She was betrothed the prince of neighboring kingdom. Once she met a jogi. The jogi was attracted to the princess the same instant. This obsession took them through all the ordeals of a passion unshared. Will this story end bitter?
