    Journey to sodom

    Por FERRARI, CATHERINE

    Sobre

In ?Journey to Sodom,? the Bible is our survival map from scarcity and oppression to abundance and love. Therefore, as we approach the story of the cities of the plain, our interpretative lens will be from the bottom up. We will walk under, around, and through the Abraham cycle to gather threads relevant to our journey. Our journey starts at the end of the flood story. Along this journey, we will uncover small nuances of truth. We will use these forgotten threads to briefly explain differences related to customs, languages and word usage which have guided the traditional theological interpretation. As we journey forward, we will question if certain theologians or scholars have overlooked God's Truth by ignoring these subtleties or if they intentionally introduced false doctrine into the Word of God. The intention of this book is not to enter the theological debate as to whether the sin of Sodom is homosexuality or hospitality. The purpose, of this book is to help readers understand how the story of Sodom has a more global message rather than the historical perspective that has caused harm. Therefore, readers will discover how foreigners learn to interact with one another; , how an individual influences a family to heed the call of a strange God; and how a small Hebrew tribe becomes neighbors with the residents of a distant land, Canaan. Readers will also learn the significance of the strangers within to the story of Sodom and the relevance of the ?strangers? social, economic and political status.? By doing so, Journey to Sodom will demonstrate how years of misinterpretation has hindered our spiritual, intellectual, and psychological growth.
