Kevin Bannister is a quiet 11 year old boy living in Hamsterley, a peaceful village in the North of England. He is soon to start a new school and his life is about to change.
But not for the better. As soon as he joins Woodhouse Lane Comprehensive, Kevin endures daily mental and physical torment at the hands of Spud, the school bully. Living in fear of retribution he feels unable to tell a soul. Kevin soon becomes confused, angry and very withdrawn. His school and home life deteriorate and become unbearable. He can't sleep at night or concentrate at school and life hardly seems worth living.
Then things improve for Kevin when he finds some comfort in a sweet relationship with Becky James and they share some special times. These moments are precious and Kevin hopes they will continue.
However this happiness is short lived and an unexpected turn of events force Kevin into taking drastic action. His life would now never be the same again and he takes the first steps in this new journey.
A journey that will eventually lead him to his 'Leap of Faith'.
