    Sobre

100 points of analysis which shed light on the anatomy of Modern Turkey established in 1923 as a Republic with only one official party, the Republican People’s Party (CHP). The Kemalist or Military Tutelage era came to an end with the rise to power of Erdoyan and his Justice and Development Party (AK Party) in 2002 and especially after 2007 and 2009 when Erdoyan put to trial hundreds of military conspirators and their allies. In the last few years Erdoyan's achievements have been marred by corruption scandals and authoritarian measures and actions on behalf of the Turkish Prime Minister. The old Kemalist Turkey does not exist anymore yet the new Turkey despite obvious democratic steps in the last decade is still not a modern and advanced democracy of European standards. It has to be seen how Turkey will evolve in this post-Kemalist era in which Erdoyan is the dominant political figure after 11 years in power as Prime Minister and from 28 August 2014 as the first elected President of Turkey with almost 52% of the vote.
