    Sobre

Theodore Presser (1848-1925) was the founder of "The Etude music magazine," "Theodore Presser Company", and Department of Music at Ohio Wesleyan University, and director of music at Hollins Collegeion's.

In 1897 Presser wrote a famous fictionalized account of Mozart's travels in Europe entitled "Mozart's Journey from Vienna to Prague."

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 – 1791) was a prolific and influential composer of the Classical era. Born in Salzburg, Mozart showed prodigious ability from his earliest childhood. Already competent on keyboard and violin, he composed from the age of five and performed before European royalty.

One of the longest adulthood journeys of Mozart was a visit, beginning in Spring 1789, to a series of cities lying northward of his adopted home in Vienna: Prague, Leipzig, Dresden, and Berlin. Mozart and Lichnowsky departed Vienna on the morning of 8 April 1789. They reached Prague on 10 April--it is this leg of the journey which Presser's fictionalized account narrates.
