Nikola Tesla Biography (English Edition)

Nikola Tesla (Smiljan, Austria-Hungary, now Croatia, July 10, 1856-New York, January 7, 1943) was an inventor, mechanical engineer, electrical engineer and physicist of Serbian origin. He is known especially for his numerous inventions in the field of electromagnetism, developed in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century. Tesla's patents and theoretical work helped shape the foundations of modern systems of electric power by alternating current (AC), including the polyphase system of electrical distribution and the AC motor, which contributed to the emergence of the Second Industrial Revolution .
