When a person is attacked in the real-world, it is legally permissible for them to take any actions that are
reasonably necessary in self-defence. Australia's current legislation, however, prevents victims of
cyberattacks from doing the same. As the threat of cybercrime increases, it is of critical importance that all
avenues of cybercrime are investigated.
This book examines the question of whether Australia could introduce online self-defence laws as an
extension of current legislation.
