The privilege of being born into a close and welcoming family with loving parents is not the life Jane enjoyed as a child. Instead, as a small infant, she was abandoned at a working Orphanage. An institution where the children were required to do all the work and care for one another. However, the day Jane has been dreading is soon to arrive. It is the day Jane will turn sixteen. At this time government funding for her care will end. Even though she has seamstress skills, there are no jobs available. Because of this unfortunate predicament, she is forced to accept a Mail-Order-Bride proposal from a man named Calvin Stoutte who is only interested in obtaining a farm worker for his homestead. Will he come to appreciate her as his wife or will her life travel in a different direction? It has been said that a difficult past can make a strong person. Sometimes, it is not how things begin but how things end that matters.
