Praying in Three Colors is a 70 day devotional guide based on the teachings of Natural Church Development (NCD) by Christian Schwarz. It can be used as part of a church-wide campaign or by individuals looking for a guide to understanding and relating to the Triune God in a deeper way. Each week of the guide focuses on a different yeah if from NCD, primarily the 8 quality characteristics of a healthy church. The foundation for understanding these characteristics is the Trinitarian Compass, a three color paradigm for understanding how each of us reflect different parts of the heart of God, expressed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. As we understand the biblical emphases related to each member of the Trinity, we are enabled to understand each other better and grow to deeper unity within the body of Christ. It helps us to appreciate our strengths and he strengths of others, so that together we can come to a fuller appreciation of the great majesty of God. God is so much bigger than our theological paradigms or ways of seeing the world. As such, those who relate to God in ways different than us help us to look beyond the boxes we have built for God and to see his beauty, truth and goodness in a more complete way. This 70 day journey of prayer is built on daily Bible readings, reflection questions, intercessory and listening prayer prompts that help us to engage these truths in a personal way so that we can live them out more fully. Ideally, this journey of prayer will be taken in the context of church community so that members of the Body of Christ can learn together from their differences and grow to appreciate the diversity of God expressed in a multitude I ways through his people.
