Brewing craft beer is the latest form of manufacturing to take hold in Michigan. This is an industry that is growing, it is providing jobs, and most important from a municipal government’s point of view, it is providing a tax base. It is also finding a way to reuse some of Michigan’s iconic factory buildings and manufacturing campuses. The entrepreneurs who are brewing craft beer in Michigan face the same challenges as other manufacturers.
